The goal of the Older Adults Health Branch is to help promote the health and quality of life of North Carolina's older adults.
North Carolina's aging population is one of the fastest growing in the country. Prevention and intervention to keep this population healthy and vital are essential to maintaining quality of life and controlling health care costs. The Older Adult Health Promotion Program serves as a resource on older adult health promotion; provides technical assistance and training on health promotion and aging; identifies, develops and disseminates program information; and serves as a liaison with other state agencies and organizations.
Health and human service professionals who wish to use the Internet for research and for providing health information to older people should refer to the Older Adult Health Promotion Program's publication entitled Using the Internet for Older Adult Health Education and Research.
