Technical assistance is provided to North Carolina county governmental and
health department staffs to design new health and human service facilities and renovate
existing health department buildings. This work begins with staff interviews to identify
spatial needs and, in response, culminates with design of architectural floor plans.
Ultimately the construction documents for these designs are produced by private sector
architects who also supervise construction of the buildings.
