NC Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health (NCGCPFH)
The North Carolina Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health has as
its mission: "to improve the physical activity opportunities for all North
Carolinians." Eight members appointed by the Governor, one State
Representative, one State Senator and an Executive Director serve as leadership.
The staff to the Council is housed within the PAN Unit of the Health Promotion
Branch-Chronic Disease and Injury Section of the Division of Public
Health of DHHS. The Council consists of three subcommittees and meets four
times a year.
